This policy explains what information ManageCV collects, why it is collected, and how it is handled. You can browse the public pages and template galleries without an account. If you create a CV, we store the content you enter so you can come back to it.
Information we collect
We keep collection to what the product needs to work:
- Account details: your email address, password (stored only as a secure hash) and your name if you provide one.
- CV and cover letter content you enter or import, including the sections, dates, descriptions and any optional profile photo you upload.
- Documents and text you upload or paste when starting from an existing CV, used to fill in your sections.
- Purchase records: what you bought, the amount, the currency, the payment reference from our payment provider and the access period it granted.
- Technical request data such as IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamps, recorded by the hosting server as part of normal operation.
- Messages you choose to send us, for example by email.
What we do not collect
- No card or bank details. Payment is completed on our payment provider’s secure page and we never see your card number.
- No advertising profiles and no sale or trade of personal information.
- No access to your email, contacts or social accounts.
How information is used
- To create your account, sign you in and keep your saved CVs and cover letters available to you.
- To produce previews, PDF downloads and, if you choose to create one, a share link.
- To confirm a purchase, apply the access it grants and handle refunds and receipts.
- To send account emails such as password resets and notices about when access is ending.
- To keep the service secure and available, and to diagnose problems.
Writing help and AI processing
When you ask for wording help, or import a CV so it can be sorted into sections, the text involved is sent to an external AI provider for processing and the result is returned to your CV. Only the text needed for that request is sent, it is sent because you asked for it, and it is not used to build profiles about you. If you would rather not use it, simply do not use the import and polish features — every field can be filled in by hand.
Share links
A share link is only created when you create one. Anyone holding the link can view that CV, so treat it as public and remove it when you no longer need it. Share links are not indexed by search engines.
Service providers
The service relies on a hosting provider, a payment provider for purchases, an email service for account messages, and an AI provider for the optional writing and import features. Each processes only the data needed for its part of the service.
Retention and deletion
- Your CVs and cover letters are kept while your account exists, so you can edit them at any time.
- A deleted CV moves to your bin and is removed permanently after 30 days.
- Earlier versions of a CV are kept as a short history so you can go back to recent wording.
- Purchase records are kept for accounting and refund purposes even after related content is deleted.
- Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
Your rights
You may ask what information we hold about you, request a copy, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete your account and its content. Write to us using the details on the contact page and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Changes to this policy
As new capabilities are added, this policy will be updated before those capabilities collect any additional information.
